WALES—A Wales woman was recognized by the Utah Quilt Guild with the Silver Thimble Award on Sept. 22.

Charlotte Davis of Wales received the award at the guild’s Annual Quilt Fest.

“Every year at the Utah Quilt Guild’s Annual Quilt Fest, we award the Silver Thimble Award to a member of the guild who has provided service to the guild and helped further our motto of encouraging, promoting and preserving the art of quilt making,” Nancy Henderson, president-elect of the Utah Quilt Guild, says.

Henderson says that Davis had served the quilters of Piute, Wayne, Sanpete and Sevier counties by keeping them abreast of the happenings within the Utah Quilt Guild, attending their monthly meetings and sharing new skills and techniques.

Davis also regularly undertakes charity sewing projects with her quilting group and teaches classes, Henderson says.

The Utah Quilt Guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping quilting alive and comprised of local area chapters and branches.
