“Delivering joy throughout the year,” proclaims the Gunnison Valley Hospital float, which appeared in the Manti, Gunnison and Ephraim light parades. The float won the “best overall” prize in the Gunnison parade.

Youngsters line up in the lobby of the Old Spring City School Community Center to visit with Santa following a community lighting program Dec. 4. The program included a countdown from 10 to one, culminating in lights going on a large tree on the lawn was well as on the building. Then, as the crowd sang Christmas carols, Santa arrived on the town fire truck.
This light pole, decorated with rock slabs depicting a skunk, a bunny and a porcupine, took first place in the community and family category, in the Spring City light-pole-decorating contest. The inscription says, “There were wee little voices lifted in wee little songs of joy.” The designer was Nancy Vanderwall.
A big pine tree growing on the lawn of the Old Spring City School Community Center was transformed into a community Christmas tree. Around the tree were other lighted decorations.
The sixth-grade chorus, at Ephraim Middle School performs at the school Christmas program Dec.9. They sang “Up on the Rooftop” and “Light up the Tree.”

The Fairview Elementary Chorus, under the direction of Jessica Madsen, a sixth-grade teacher, met twice weekly after school for several weeks to practice for their Christmas recital, which they performed Dec. 14.
