Cornhole fundraiser for North Sanpete Veterans Memorial set for May 10 at Contoy
MT. PLEASANT—The North Sanpete Veterans Memorial Committee and a cornhole organization called the Back 40 Baggers are sponsoring a Cornhole Tournament
Fundraiser for the veterans memorial on Saturday May 10 at ConToy Arena.
The Back 40 Baggers are providing the cornhole stands, bags and prizes, among other items needed for the tournament.
Organizers hope the event will make a dent in funding needed to complete the memorial. The estimated cost is $300,000, and $175,000 has been raised so far.
Doors open at 10 a.m. and the cornhole bags start flying at 11 a.m. The registration fee, payable at the door by cash or credit card, is $25 per player.
The tournament will be divided into upper and lower brackets. First, second and third-place prizes will be awarded in each bracket.
Concessions, including alcohol, will be provided by Mardell Kitchen.
The memorial itself will be located on U.S. Highway 89 near 700 South. The sponsoring committee has said groundbreaking will occur on July 4, 2026, the nation’s 250th birthday, even if not all funds are in hand at that point.
