Dorothy Fjeldsted Keisel, 75, of Centerfield, passed away May 16, 2022 at the hospital in Gunnison.

Dorothy Fjeldsted Keisel

She was born July 9, 1946 in Gunnison to Bruce R. and Jean Hendrickson Fjeldsted. She married Kenley Lou Keisel on Aug. 14, 1966 in Ely, Nevada. The marriage was solemnized on June 18, 1982 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2013.

Dorothy was a devoted mother and wife. She was blessed with eight beautiful children, whom she loved dearly. Her true calling in life was raising, nurturing and watching her children grow. This calling continued as her grandchildren were born.

Dorothy was a hard worker and had countless jobs throughout her life. She absolutely loved the mountains. Her joys were camping, fishing and going for four-wheeler rides with her loving husband and family.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her family, loved ones and everyone who was blessed to have known her.

My Mom – Your arms forever open, your hugs that held me tight; your special goodnight kisses to last throughout the night. A shoulder I could cry on, a softly spoken word, an all-familiar song you’d sing, the sweetest that I’ve heard. To me, you are a flower, Mom, so delicate and fair. You’ve given fragrance to my life by simply being there.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Cindy Hill, Centerfield; Shelle (Mark) Christiansen, Centerfield; Danna (Erick) Maloney, Centerfield; Clint (Kristin) Keisel, Gunnison; Nan (Adam) Jensen, Baily, Colorado; Amanda (Dirk) King, Fayette; Nickie (Robbie Anderson, Centerfield; Kassie (Jason) Allen, Centerfield; former son-in-law, Dale Hill, Gunnison; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Paul (Julie) Fjeldsted, Mayfield.

Preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Ronald Fjeldsted.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Centerfield 2nd Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Centerfield Cemetery.

Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina, and Manti. Online guestbook at http://www.maglebymortuary.com.
