FOUNTAIN GREEN—A Fountain Green man was arrested last Wednesday, March 23, on suspicion of “discharging a firearm” within city limits after youths apparently threw eggs at his house.

A neighbor called 911 after hearing gunshots about 9 p.m. in the vicinity of 800 W. Center St. According to a Sheriff’s Office spokesman, deputies were dispatched at 9:26 p.m. and arrived on scene 17 minutes later at 9:43 pm.

The reporting party said that after the neighbor’s house was “egged,” the resident came outside yelling. Then the reporting party heard a gunshot.

After further investigation, deputies arrested Siale Pulu Anau for allegedly firing a round from a .22 caliber rifle into the ground.

While the investigation was underway, the dispatch center received a call about vandalism in progress, apparently another egging, in Fountain Green.

Meanwhile, another vandalism in progress was reported in Manti. The Ephraim Police Department backed up the Sheriff’s Office in responding.

The Sheriff’s Office said the various incidents are still under investigation.
