Gunnison seniors to host first 2026 potluck next week
GUNNISON—The Gunnison Valley Seniors are planning their first potluck social of 2026 next week.
“We so excited to start with our first social of the New Year,” Josie Roberts, social organizer. “We do hope everyone made it through the holidays and is ready for 2026.”
The next dinner will be Monday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Gunnison City Hall in the senior citizens room. Taco salads will be on the menu with an assortment of toppings and potluck desserts brought in. Roberts says you should bring your own dishes and invite your senior friends from the valley.
According to Roberts, the November dinner social drew 70 attendees, which is the most they have had in years. The senior board members cooked Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, says Roberts.
“It was very exciting to see everyone there,” she told the Messenger.
She says the quilting room continues to stay busy, and quilters should join in on Tuesdays and on Thursdays at 9 a.m. Also, if you need help with a quilt, the seniors are happy to assist.
“Kathy Brown is our quilt coordinator,” Roberts says. “Helping her on the quilting committee are Karen Donaldson and Elaine Jensen. Thank you, ladies, for your dedication and service to this program.”
