GV native comes home to practice medicine
GUNNISON—Dr. Rylan Anderson, a Gunnison native and graduate of Gunnison Valley High School, has returned to his hometown to practice medicine at Gunnison Valley Family Practice and Wellness.

Anderson recently joined the medical team after completing his medical education and residency training outside the valley. His return brings him back to the community where he grew up, this time as a physician caring for local residents.
“I’m excited to be back in the community that I grew up in and have the opportunity to care for the people here,” Anderson said. “It’s a privilege to come home and be part of the healthcare team at Gunnison Valley Hospital.”
After graduating from Gunnison Valley High School, Anderson attended Snow College and Southern Utah University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology.
He continued his education at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Utah, earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
Anderson then completed his residency at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where he trained in family medicine and surgical obstetrics. During his second year of residency, he received the Resident of the Year award.
According to Gunnison Valley Hospital, Anderson's return brings additional medical training to the local practice while providing patients with a physician who has longstanding ties to the community.
Outside his medical practice, Anderson enjoys hunting, horseback riding, snowmobiling and dirt biking. He also enjoys spending time with his family and playing with his two daughters.
Gunnison Valley Family Practice and Wellness announced Anderson is accepting new patients.
