FAIRVIEW ELEMENTARY

                Fairview students enjoyed a special assembly sponsored by the Road to Success last Tuesday, Feb. 28 where Paul the magician taught students about the magic of reading.

Parents and grandparents visited the school the following morning for Muffin Morning where they enjoyed muffin and reading with their students.  On Thursday the school served birthday cake for lunch to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

On Friday students enjoyed Story Hour where guest storytellers attended all classes and read books.

 

 

 

EPHRAIM MIDDLE SCHOOL

                Student Body Elections will be held next week. Students interested in running for a student body office need to pick up an application and petition from the office this week. The school bands will be performing at the school next Wednesday night, March 15, at 6 p.m. Class officer elections will be held March 20-23. Spring break is March 27-31.

 

 

 

GUNNISON VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

                The Red Cross will be at the school next Monday, March 13 at 9 a.m. for its semiannual blood drive. The drive, which should go until about 2:30 p.m.,  is open to the public. Appointments are not needed.

 

 

 EPHRAIM ELEMENTARY

                Tonight at 6:30 p.m. is the annual PTA Culture Night which is free and open to the public. This evening the spotlight will be on the Asian countries of Vietnam, Japan, China and the Philippines. There will be activities and food samples from all four countries. International students from Snow College will also be helping with the event.

 

 

 

GUNNISON VALLEY ELEMENTARY

                Tonight at 6 p.m. is Reader Night where high school students will be dressing up and reading books to the kids in different sessions. There will be treats for everyone and the book fair, which has been going on all week, will be open from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The book fair will finish up on Friday morning.

 

 

NORTH SANPETE HIGH SCHOOL

 After winning the school’s Poetry Out Loud competition, Junior Cody Howell competed in the regional competition at the Gunnison Casino Star Theater on Tuesday, Feb. 28 and took first place. He will go on to the state competition at Westminster College next Wednesday, March 15. The Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest is a partnership with Utah Division of Arts and Museums and the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation.
