MT. PLEASANT—The Sanpete Valley Hospital (SVH) Scholarship program is gearing up to help another three Sanpete high school seniors get funding for their college educations.

The annual SVH scholarships are awarded to three seniors from any high school in Sanpete who meet the criteria of a current GPA of 3.5 or higher, plan to pursue a career in healthcare and are actively involved in community service.

To apply for the $1,000 scholarship, students can obtain an application from their high school counselor. After filling out the application, a student should email it, a resume and a 300-500 word essay to debbie.robinett@imail.org.

The essay should provide details on the student’s experience with community service as well as plans for pursuing a career in healthcare, and how they would use the scholarship award if selected.   Completed applications may also be dropped off at the hospital administration office during business hours, or by mail to: Sanpete Valley Hospital, Attn: Debbie Robinett, 1100 S. Medical Drive, Mt. Pleasant, Utah 84647. Applications submitted via mail must be postmarked by April 21 deadline.

Representatives from Sanpete Valley Hospital will review the applicants and select three students to each receive a $1,000 scholarship award. Selection will be based on the student’s application, transcript, resume, and essay.

Scholarship recipients will need to provide proof of college registration to Sanpete Valley Hospital and complete applicable tax forms in order to receive the award. Sanpete Valley Hospital will then make the $1,000 donation towards the student’s tuition or other schooling expenses. Scholarship awards will be held for up to three years for those recipient(s) who will not be attending college for the following school year(s).
