James ‘Kirk’ Williams

James ‘Kirk’ Williams, 56, a kind hearted prankster, peacefully passed away with loved ones by his side, in the comfort of his home in Manti, Utah on June 14, 2026.

Kirk was born on June 27, 1969 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the son of LaMar and Dorothy Jarvis Williams.

Kirk graduated from Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City and received an Associates Degree from Snow College, in Ephraim.

He served a mission to Columbus, Ohio for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Kirk married Miriam Ward Coppersmith and became a stepfather to her four children. They later divorced.

The majority of his adult life he lived in Manti working at the local radio stations and owning his own computer repair business. Kirk also spent countless volunteer hours doing tech work for The Resource Clothing Bank in Ephraim.

His natural ability to create programs and problem solve computer issues made him the ”go to” person for family and friends. He was always willing to help out. Often he would fix things for loved ones for free, or a Diet Coke.

He is survived by his siblings, Doug (Ilene) Williams, Fruit Heights, Utah, Stan (Lori) Williams, Panquich, Utah, Steve (Debbie) Ward, Manti, Utah, Nancy (Arvin) Bean, Manti, Utah, Tom Williams, Manti, Utah, Paul (Jenny) Williams, Cedar City, Utah, LeAnn (Jeremy) Olsen, Rota, Spain, and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Marla Ward.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Kirk on July 1, 2026, 11 a.m., at the Manti 5th Ward Building, 295 South Main Street, Manti.
