The Snow College women’s basketball team led most of the night, but came up on the short end of the score when it counted in a two-point loss to Utah State University-Eastern, 69-67.
The Lady Badgers built as much as a seven-point lead in the first half, but the Eagles would never go away and trailed by just two at the half. USU-E still trailed by two points after the third quarter and made their move late in the second half to secure the road win against Snow College.
The Lady Badgers held the advantage with points in the paint 34-14, but the difference was from long range, where the Eagles shot 48 percent from behind the three-point line and 33 of their 69 points came from beyond the arc.
Addi Johnson led the Badgers with 14 points and five rebounds. Kylie Larsen and Sarah Lange came off the bench to add 10 points each. Snow College had their best night shooting from the free throw line, hitting 80 percent as a team, but only went to the line five times compared to the 18 free throws attempted by the Eagles. USU-E made 16 of their 18 attempts.
Snow College will postpone their game this week at Community Christian College due to this week being finals week at Snow College and play a double-header later in the season. The Badgers’ next game will be Saturday, Dec. 18 at home against Salt Lake Community College at 1 p.m. in the Horne Activity Center.
