MT. PLEASANT—Senior Eryn Briggs certainly needed a performance like this, but a win was too much to ask.

The North Sanpete girls’ basketball team lost their fourth straight game last week as they struggled to contain the flamethrower offense of Draper APA and fell, 70-57. Despite the loss, it was the highest-scoring game by the Lady Hawks since head coach Taylor Christensen began coaching North Sanpete, and the highest-scoring since December of 2016. North Sanpete’s overall record moved to 3-8.

Senior Eryn Briggs, who had not had a double-digit scoring game since the first game of the season at Maeser Prep, exploded back onto the scene with 24 points, all on 3-pointers and she made an astounding eight shots behind the arc. Junior Tylee Henrie scored 17 points.

Prior to the game against Draper APA, the Lady Hawks lost to 1A Altamont, 35-27. Junior Emily Strait led North Sanpete with 11 points in that game.

The Lady Hawks attention will turn to Region 14 as they prepare to face Manti on the road this Thursday.
