MT. PLEASANT—Twenty-seven Mt Pleasant girls took the stage on Friday night competing for the titles of Mini, Little and Junior Miss Mount Pleasant. With a theme of the night of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” each one of the contestants did just that.
The newly crowned Miss Mount Pleasant, Hope Shelley and her first attendant, Marlee Crozier were the emcees of the evening and it was obvious that they were having just as much fun as each one of the girls competing.
Contestants participated in personal interviews, casual wear, talent and evening wear with an on-stage question.
The Mini Miss Royalty was crowned first in the evening with Tayisha Brothersen taking the crown. She is the daughter of Brandon and Mindy Brothersen. Tayisha nailed her on stage question saying with her desire to have a mermaid and unicorn themed party. Her first attendant is Amelia Gunnell, daughter of Kevin and Sara Gunnell and second attendant is Remi Rae Peterson, daughter of Brandon and Michae Peterson.
The Little Miss Queen was announced next, with Kaylee Curtis, daughter of Sam and Marcy Curtis, taking the honors. Kaylee rocked the stage in her casual wear with her cheerleading day wear and her poms letting everyone know she loves cheering on her big brothers. Her first attendant is Lexi Shelley, daughter of Jade and Brandee Shelley, and second attendant is Tenley Jo Rosenlof, daughter of Cory and Lacey Rosenlof.
Adilynn Shepherd was crowned the new Junior Miss Mount Pleasant. She is the daughter of Bernaro and Nikki Corona. Adilynn shared her talent of sign language with the judges. Her attendants are Brynlee Neves, daughter of Dave and Nikki Neeves and Kayte Tejada, daughter of Elias and Jeanne Tejada.
The newly crowned royalties will serve along side of Miss Mount Pleasant over the next year participating in parades throughout the county and events in Mt Pleasant.
