North Sanpete and Manti High School were filled with beautiful dresses and tuxedos as students from both schools enjoyed their junior prom last weekend.
After a difficult year of COVID regulations, Manti held their promenade, “Night Under the Northern Lights” on the football field Saturday night in front of their parents and family members.
Talia Cluff, daughter of Erin and Joel Cluff, was named the prom queen. Scott Albee, son of Shirlene and Jayson Albee, was named prom king. Ashton Swenson, son of Heath and Jason Swenson, and Hadden Taylor, daughter of Ralaina and Matthew Taylor, were the first attendant couple.
Simeon Olsen, son of Becky and Milton Olsen, and Sailor Reneau, daughter of Dani and Richard Reneau, were the second attendant couple.
North Sanpete was able to hold their traditional two-night affair. Even though the spectator numbers were limited, there was still room for spectators of all ages. The theme of the night was “Masquerade,” but masks were not mandatory for the young prom-goers because all participants were COVID tested in advance of the prom so they could forgo the masks.
North Sanpete’s prom queen was Ella Eliason, daughter of Brad and Patricia Eliason of Freedom, and prom king was JB Sandefur, son of Erick and Jette Utley of Fairview.
The pair were chosen by their classmates and led them in their promenade both nights.
