MANTI—Participation in Manti High School’s new swim team has been “unbelievable for the first year,” says Coach Rachel Keller.

She was hoping for 10-12 participants. The team has ended up with 34.

Megan Fowles, competing for her first time, has qualified for state in breaststroke. Two Manti relay teams have also qualified for state. And more Templar swimmers could qualify based on their performances at a meet this week and at the region meet on Friday, Jan. 28.

The region meet will be held at the Horne Activities Center at Snow College beginning at 11 a.m., and Keller hopes some supporters will be in the stands cheering on the swimmers.
