I covered the Mt. Pleasant City Council as a journalist for a year. My experience in doing that has helped me understand that Michael Olsen should stay on as the mayor and Bull Keisel shouldn’t be elected to the seat.
In city council meetings, Olsen demonstrated incredible knowledge of Mt. Pleasant and local government policy, while Keisel was the least knowledgeable of anyone on the council. In fact, Keisel would turn to Olsen in council meetings and ask him for understanding about various policies and issues.
It’s actually a bit disingenuous that Keisel is seeking to knock off Olsen since Olsen made Keisel’s job easier and helped him know how to vote.
