Miss Moroni pageant set for Saturday










MORONI—Moroni City is inviting residents to attend the Miss Moroni Pageant at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at North Sanpete Middle School.
The pageant lineup includes two contestants for Miss Moroni, four for Little Miss Moroni and four for Mini Miss Moroni. The event materials say city leaders want the community to come support the girls competing in this year’s program.
Competing for Miss Moroni are Natalie Gutierrez and Alexa Rodriguez.
Gutierrez, daughter of Eduardo Gutierrez and Jessica Ornelas, plans to center her platform on CPR awareness and life-saving education. Her talent presentation will demonstrate CPR and other life-saving techniques.
Rodriguez, daughter of Agustin and Raquel Rodriguez, is promoting body positivity through an active lifestyle and a supportive community where people feel confident and valued.
The Little Miss Moroni division features Sadie Hales, Bryndle Hopes, Kambrie Russell, and Alison Tapia.
Hales, daughter of Kevin and Ana Hales, said her platform would focus on bullying if she wins the title.
Hopes, daughter of Boedee and PattiJo Hopes, plans to perform a dance routine and promote “Kindness Counts” through uplifting messages in the community.
Russell, daughter of Brennen Russell, is promoting patriotism and community support, including honoring veterans and first responders, and encouraging residents to support local events.
Tapia, daughter of Jane Guitron and Juan Tapia, said she wants to assemble kits with handwritten notes for people experiencing social isolation and help elderly residents with chores they cannot do on their own.
The Mini Miss Moroni contestants are Paislee Christensen, Hailey Larsen, Harlynn Larsen, and Brylee Michie.
Christensen, daughter of Caitlin and Gavin Baldwin and Kody Christensen, is promoting antibullying.
Hailey Larsen, daughter of Tyler and Kasi Larsen, plans to sing “You Are My Sunshine” and raise money for the community through a bake sale.
Harlynn Larsen, also daughter of Tyler and Kasi Larsen, will perform a dance routine and focus her platform on keeping parks clean and safe for children.
Michie, daughter of Megan and Brad Michie, plans a retro hip-hop dance and hopes to launch a service project called “Pink Protectors” to create thank-you notes and collect books and coloring supplies for local heroes and children.
The event information highlights a wide range of service themes, including emergency response education, body positivity, antibullying, kindness, patriotism, support for isolated residents, community fundraising, and park safety.
