MT. PLEASANT—Central Utah Educational Services (CUES) has selected Mt. Pleasant Elementary Principal Rena Orton as the 2021-2022 CUES Administrator of the Year.

Jason Strate, CUES director, said Orton was chosen by the seven district superintendents. “She is a dedicated, committed principal and has represented the North Sanpete School District well for years.”
Orton has been at the district one year as a teacher’s assistant, ten years as a teacher and 14 years as the principal. Prior to coming to Sanpete, she worked for Panguitch Elementary for six years.
As part of this honor, Orton will be recognized at the Utah Rural Schools Conference on July 7 in Cedar City. She will also represent CUES at the conference.
North Sanpete School District superintendent Nan Ault says, “I am proud of her. She has devoted an entire career to public education. The contribution she has made to student progress, the way she cares for students, and the leadership she provides her staff is worth this award.”
Central Utah Educational Services (CUES) provides services and support to seven central Utah school districts: Sevier, Wayne, Tintic, Piute, South Sanpete, Juab and North Sanpete. Each year, the CUES Board selects a teacher or principal to be honored for their exceptional work in the schools.
