RICHFIELD—Awards for the winners and runners-up in the Central Utah Regional Sterling Scholar Competition will be presented at a ceremony Monday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sevier Valley Center.

Hollie Hollman, one of the chairs of this year’s competition, said judges will be interviewing the nominees throughout the day. Students will have a little downtime to play games and socialize when they are not in the interview.

Hollman said this will be the first year the Central Region will host the event on a college campus.

“It is exciting for many reasons,” she said. “We have excellent opportunities to get highly qualified judges for each area, the students have great facilities for judging and performing, it is an even playing field for all students, and it gives students the opportunity to be recruited by the college.”

In the afternoon following the interviews, the students, along with their advisors, will hear from keynote speaker Craig Mathie, former vice president of student success at Snow College.
