The North Sanpete High School faculty challenged the students to a volleyball tournament last week during flex. Sign-ups were held in the office the week prior and consisted of teams made up of students and other teams of teachers.

During the school’s flex period for the week, students and teachers competed until there were two final teams left—one of which consisted of faculty and the other of students.

Most of the time the cheers seemed to be in favor of the faculty team, which consisted of Jori Turpin, Austin Hadley, Bill Pollock, Rhett Bird, Sterling Whipple and Alex Bailey.

Team Black Hawks won the tournament with two sets to one. The team was awarded the golden volleyball trophy, along with bragging rights.

“Even though we were in the net a lot, and had a lot of the crowd cheering against us, we pulled through and showed everyone we could beat the teacher,” said Team Black Hawk member Jada Bailey.

The tournament was popular among the students and faculty and there are plenty of hopes that it will happen again.
