Phyllis Jean Bronson Brown, 95, of Manti passed away on June 23, 2022 in Centerfield, Utah. She was born on June 17, 1927 in Hazelton, Idaho to Artie Lee and Marjorie Helen Sprague Bronson.

Phyllis Jean Bronson Brown

Phyllis married Clifford Ray Pettingill on Sept. 15, 1948, they later divorced. She then married Lester I. Bobo on Nov. 19, 1977 in Manti. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on Sept. 20, 1986. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1995. Phyllis later married Maurice D. Brown on July 10, 1999 in Manti, they later divorced.

Phyllis was a talented lady. She had a beautiful singing voice and was the lead lady in “Kiss Me Kate” and “My Fair Lady”. She enjoyed synchronized swimming and was a waitress and hostess when she lived in California. Phyllis and her husband Les managed the Manti Motel for several years and she loved meeting people from all over.

Phyllis was really good with people, especially children. She was an immaculate homemaker, she loved to cook and invite the missionaries and close friends over for dinner. She loved to dress up her kitchen table with a nice tablecloth, cloth napkins, and her best china dishes. She liked to be the hostess and loved the family sitting around the table talking about their day. She always made everyone feel welcomed.

She was an excellent dress maker, quilt maker, and seamstress for her children, grandchildren and others. She liked to do gardening and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as the ward chorister and as an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple.
