Rena Inez Clayton

            Rena Inez Clayton, 82 of Hurricane, Utah passed away June 3, 2022 in St. George, Utah.

            She was born June 4, 1939 in Fountain Green, Utah to William Morris and Bessie Sophia Jensen Coombs.


            Rena married, then later divorced, Bill Anders. To this marriage Jean, Cindy, Bill and Mark were born. She married Ernest Christian Clayton Jr. on Feb. 11, 1968 giving birth to Donna and Crystal. Together Ernie and “Inez” raised their 11 children. Ernest preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2008.


            She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later in life they were sealed for time and all eternity in the St. George temple.


            Rena was a hard worker. She held many different professional positions in her life. After raising her children she returned to school to finish her GED, eventually earning an associates degree from Salt Lake Community College.


            She loved to spend her free time bowling, golfing, camping, gardening, cooking and canning, making arts and crafts, attending Red Hats, but most of all, planning family gatherings and vacations.


            She is survived by her brothers; Mark Coombs (Ranae), Gordon Everts (Tishan), children; Cindy Tolle (Michael), Mark Anders, Donna Christensen (Ryan), Crystal Gafa (Brent), 33 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.


            She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister, daughter, three sons and two grandsons.


            Her family would like to thank The Heritage Home and Dr. Last in Hurricane, Utah for taking such loving care of her.


            Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at noon in the Moroni 1st Ward chapel, 82 N. Center St. in Moroni.


            Burial was in the Moroni Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. On line guest book at: http://www.springerturner.com.
