Rodaleen Burnside Turpin

Rodaleen Burnside Turpin passed away peacefully on Sept. 21, 2026 with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 23, 1941 in Mountainville, Utah to Leonard Burnside and Anna Birdella Peterson.

She grew up on the family farm along with her three brothers and two sisters living with no indoor plumbing; learning to pump and haul water out of the cistern or the creek, harvesting and bottling fruits and vegetables, washing laundry in an old ringer washer and hanging it out to dry on the clothes line, and cooking on a wood stove. These lessons served her well as she raised her own family.

She graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1959 where she was active in sports and glee club and played the snare drum. After high school, while awaiting the return of her missionary, she worked in Salt Lake City at the LDS Church office building in the General Primary department.

She married Maurice Wayne Turpin in the Manti, Utah temple on Dec. 1, 1962. Together they raised a family of five in Fairview. She was an excellent homemaker but most of all a wonderful wife and mother, creating a home filled with love. Being a grandma was one of her greatest joys in life; each one had special meaning to her.

Rodaleen was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several positions. She was a Christ-like example to her children and grandchildren who love her dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Maurice Wayne Turpin and children; Suzanne Revoir, Rosemary Miceli, Thad (Jeannette) Turpin, Kathy Jo (Jason) Sunderland and Mandy (Trevor) Bartlett. Sisters, Kathy (Gerold) Ericksen, Jill (Bob) Bingham and brother-in-law Ervin Shelley. Also survived by the lights of her life; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Boyce Burnside, Roger (Shirley) Burnside and Ted (Nancy) Burnside; sister-in-law; Loretta Turpin Shelley, and son-in-law, Robert Revoir.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Fairview 3rd Ward Chapel (131 East 100 North). Viewings will be held Friday, Sept.25, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services both held at the church. Interment in the Fairview City Cemetery.
