Senior citizens to raffle two handmade quilts off

Jeanie Tidwell, president of the board of the Ephraim Senior Citizens, announces a raffle for two handmade quilts made by Stitchin’ Sisters of Ephraim. Their group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the center, 90 W. 100 N.

Tickets available by calling the center at 283-6310 after 4 p.m. or call 435-813-2508 after 9 a.m. The raffle will run until the last Saturday in October. Tickets are $1.00 or 5/$6.00.

The center was closed during COVID but is open and avail- able for groups to rent now by contacting the center. The rental rate is $100 per day with a $25 deposit.

The Ephraim chapter of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers meet the second Monday of every month. A fitness club meets every Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 8 p.m., starting in October. The eAthenian Academy is also look for seniors to read to students every Thursday at 8 a.m. starting Sept. 15.

“We are organizing more events now,” says Tidwell. “We’ll let people know in the Messenger as events come up.”
