GUNNISON—Good times continue to roll for the Bulldogs, who have yet to lose a match to a team from the 2A classification.
Gunnison Valley boys’ soccer claimed three straight wins, extending their winning streak to five, with wins over Diamond Ranch, 5-1, Beaver, 4-3, and South Sevier, 2-1. The Bulldogs now sit at 9-1 overall with a 9-0 record in the 2A South.
Junior Bryson Sorensen pushed his goal count to 14 with two goals against Diamond Ranch. His 14 goals in 10 games currently place him as the third-best scorer in the state. Junior Jon Willden, sophomore Pearson Judy, and senior Stockten Broderick each scored as well, while junior Max Malanda picked up two assists.
In yet another close game with the Beavers, Malanda and Judy both scored, while Sorensen was held scoreless for the first time this season. Sophomore Tyson Tucker and senior Caleb Matthews each chipped in goals to get the win and sweep Beaver for the season. Judy had his day in the sun last Saturday with both Gunnison goals in the game against South Sevier, singlehandedly securing victory.
Gunnison will be away from home to take on winless San Juan on Tuesday.
