Fiddler of the Roof at Peterson Dance Hall, July 17, 18, 20

FAIRVIEW—The North Bend Entertainers will present the musical Fiddler on the Roof at the Peterson Dance Hall in Fairview on July 17, 18 and 20. Performances begin at 7 p.m.

North Bend Entertainers is a nonprofit community theater organization founded to help preserve the historic Peterson Dance Hall. The group’s mission is to raise funds to maintain the hall as a theatrical venue and community gathering place, provide opportunities for local performers to showcase their talents and offer affordable, high-quality entertainment.

The two-act musical is based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem by special permission of Arnold Perl, with a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.

Performed around the world in dozens of languages, Fiddler on the Roof follows Tevye, a milkman and father of five daughters, as he struggles to balance cherished traditions with a rapidly changing world. The production features well-known songs including “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sabbath Prayer” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”

The production is directed by Sarah Anderson and Bryan Spencer and features a cast of performers from throughout Sanpete County.
