MORONI—The Moroni Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is expanding its support for Pathways to English, a nonprofit organization based in Provo that funds the Foyer Coin des Cieux Orphanage (Corner of Heaven Home) in Saint Marc, Haiti.
The organization plans to build a vocational school next to the orphanage serving the orphans along with hundreds of local neighborhood children. Once the stake got word of the plan, it decided it wanted to help out however it could.
The first step in building the vocational school was purchasing the land, which was approximately $30,000. The Moroni Stake began fundraising to make this happen. Through the generosity of countless members, the stake was able to raise over $15,000. Through various other donors, the remaining amount was raised and the land was purchased in June of 2021. Ground was broken for the school this month.

Pathways to English hosted a Haitian night on Jan. 22, where they announced the exciting news that a wing of the new vocational school will be named after the Moroni Stake. The school wing will be called The Moroni Vocational Wing.
The Moroni Stake presidency and Pathways to English would like to thank everyone who has donated or supported in any way. The stake presidency felt there was an opportunity to serve, and, with the help from our Heavenly Father, the doors were opened and the help was provided thousands of miles away for people we will likely never meet in this life.
The presidency says, “God loves all his children, and if you have a desire to serve others, just listen for where the Lord needs you. The lives of hundreds of Haitian children are being changed, and we’re so excited to see the great things to come.”
