Fountain Green pickleball courts open, cemetery bridge project continues

Sanpete locals enjoy rallying on new pickleball courts in Fountain Green.

FOUNTAIN GREEN—Fountain Green boasts new community pickleball courts and the replacement of a bridge at the Fountain Green City cemetery.

The pickleball courts can be found at the Fountain Green City park, 350 W. Center St. The courts welcome anyone, even those not residing in Fountain Green. The courts are free to play on, but availability is not guaranteed, as the courts have no time limit to playing on them. The courts are open during daylight hours but are not currently available at dark because of a lack of lights.

The bridge at the Fountain Green City cemetery is being replaced. The old bridge had been worn out through time and was close to falling apart. The new bridge that will be constructed will be wider and sturdier than the previous one. While the new bridge is being constructed, those wishing to continue visiting the cemetery will be able to detour across a temporary bridge that is marked by signs. The new bridge is expected to be finished by Aug. 12.

These two new additions to Fountain Green are meant to improve the quality of life of the locals through physical activity and safety.
