Gunnison Valley scores twice but falls 63-14 at Duchesne

DUCHESNE, Duchesne County—Daxton Knudsen scored both Gunnison Valley touchdowns, but Duchesne built a large early lead and beat the Bulldogs 63-14 on Friday, Sept. 25.

The Eagles led 35-6 after the first quarter and 56-14 at halftime, according to the Deseret News quarter-by-quarter score. Duchesne added seven points in the third quarter. The game’s published scoring summary lists no fourth-quarter points. MaxPreps confirms the 63-14 final but does not provide quarter scores.

Knudsen put Gunnison Valley on the board with a 73-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, according to Deseret News. The scoring line does not name the passer, and the kick failed. Duchesne scored five touchdowns in the first quarter, while the Bulldogs scored once.

Gunnison Valley found Knudsen again in the second quarter. Deseret News credits Conner Keith with a 58-yard touchdown pass to him with 6:40 left in the half. Brody Knudsen followed with a two-point conversion pass. Those eight points brought the Bulldogs’ total to 14, but Duchesne added two touchdowns later in the quarter.

The Eagles’ early lead left Gunnison Valley chasing the game. Duchesne scored five touchdowns in the first quarter and three more in the second. The Bulldogs scored once in each of those periods and did not score again.
