GUNNISON—The death of a convicted child abuser is being investigated as a homicide at the Central Utah Correctional Facility (CUCF).
The victim has been identified as Dale Lee Rush, 66, who was discovered as unresponsive on Monday, June 28 in his cell, which is located in the Henry Facility at CUCF.
Rush was pronounced dead following medical evaluation, and the death is being investigated as a homicide by the Utah State Bureau of Investigation, say prison officials.
The victim’s family has been notified.
Rush has been serving a sentence since 2001 for first degree felonies for sodomy on a child, rape of a child and sexual abuse of a child.
