Ephraim Middle School

Ephraim Middle School journalism teacher Laurie Allen brought her class to the Sanpete Messenger office in Manti on Wednesday, Feb. 16 to learn about newspapers. Students listening to associate publisher Lloyd Call (not in picture), are (L-R): Calvin Western, Kassidy Estey, Arizona Hailey and Stella Quackenbush.

Manti High School

      Manti High School will be presenting a Theatre Play, ‘Spark Adams!’ directed by Audrey Jones and Emma Imlay. Performances will take place on Monday, Feb. 28 – Tuesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, March 2 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $3 per person.

      Manti High School will be having Student Led Conferences on March 2-3 from 4-8 p.m. Parents are asked to come with the students. School will still be held.

      There will be no school on March 4.

      A Snow Ball will be held at the Snow College Greenwood Student Center Saturday, March 5 for Manti High School students.

North Sanpete High School

      Baseball tryouts will take place on Monday, Feb. 28 and Tuesday, March 1, with softball tryouts on Monday, Feb. 28.

      Junior Prom will be taking place on Friday and Saturday, March 4-5.

      Speech and Debate will be participating in Region on Saturday, March 5.

Mt Pleasant Elementary School

      Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3. Any questions can be directed to the school at (435) 462-2077.

On Wednesday, Feb. 16, students at Mt. Pleasant Elementary enjoyed a visit from Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company from Salt Lake City. Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company is committed to furthering contemporary dance as an accessible and valued art form through performance and dance education that raises the standards, deepen the understanding, and promote personal connections with dance. 

Gunnison Valley Elementary School

      Kindergarten registration will be taking place on Friday, March 4 from 12:30-3 p.m.

Spring City Elementary School

      Monday, Feb. 28 – Friday, March 4 is White Ribbon Week. Spring City Elementary will be focusing on internet citizenship with their students.

Fountain Green Elementary School

      Tuesday, March 1 will be a Parent Teacher Association meeting at 7 p.m. All parents are welcome to attend.

      Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3. Any questions can be directed to the school at (435) 445-3316.

Fairview Elementary School

      Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3. Any questions can be directed to the school at (435) 445-3316.

Ephraim Elementary School

            Ephraim Elementary School held a Reach For The Stars reading contest for two weeks to see which boy and girl in each grade could read the most minutes outside of school. The contest was sponsored by Usborne Books. The Reach For The Stars winners, from back to front are:

            5th graders – Brynlee Merrill and Kirk Olson, 4th graders – Samuel King, Issac Pugmire, and Sophia Nelson, 3rd graders – Brooklyn Lee and Everett Tanner, 1st graders – Hazel Combs and Seth McPherson, 2nd graders – Grace Olson and John Everitt.

            Not pictured: Preschool – Allison May and Kohen Tyhurst, Kindergarten-Brielle Sampson and Carson Powell, 5th grade-Archie Stacey.

                The overall, tip top Reach For The Stars Winner with 6,367 minutes was Brynlee Merrill in 5th grade. Congratulations to these students.
