The Sanpete Valley Choral Arts Society will commence rehearsals for their annual Easter Offering program on Jan. 23 at the Mt. Pleasant Stake Center, 295 S. State St., at 6:30 p.m.

The Easter Offering was founded by Dr. Roy Ellefsen on the premise that it is an opportunity for singers and other musicians to bring their very best music and lay it on the altar of the Lord as their own personal offering at Easter.
The program has been a showcase of the very best musical talent Sanpete can offer. In addition to an exceptionally good choir, it has featured solo vocalists, smaller vocal groups, and instrumentalists ranging from piano and organ soloists to cello players and even a wonderfully talented harpist.
This year’s program will feature piano solos by Dr. Michael Huff and vocal and instrumental pieces by Prof. Brian Stucki, among others.
The performance will be on April 10, Palm Sunday, at the same venue. The group is considering a second performance at the Manti Tabernacle.
Steven Clark, the choir chairperson and assistant director, says that anyone with the ability to sing choir parts is welcome to participate. He emphasizes that this is a community choir not affiliated with any particular church. Though rehearsals are held at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, singers of all faiths are warmly invited. Questions may be directed to Mr. Clark at 435.262.0358.
COVID precautions are encouraged, including vaccinations, but are not required.
