MT. PLEASANT—The Lady Hawks of North Sanpete High School were buried under an avalanche of three-pointers from Emery’s Lainee Jensen, who had six three-pointers on her way to a game-high 26 points, as the Lady Hawks fell to Emery 79-25.
The Lady Hawks’ recent offensive renaissance fell apart this game, as they failed to score in double figures in any quarter. According to North Sanpete Coach Randi Griffith, “Emery is very talented and skilled. They are a tough match up for most because of their size, talent, and depth. We just struggled to defend them early which allowed them to get in a rhythm and that just set the tone for the game.”
Halli Bennett and Tiffany Peckham both scored eight points apiece for North Sanpete.
This week, the Lady Hawks traveled to Richfield on Tuesday and then travel to Manti tonight to take on the Lady Templars at 7 p.m.
