The North Sanpete High School softball team had an impressive week last week.
After getting edged out 4-0 at Carbon, the Lady Hawks annihilated American Leadership Academy (ALA) 21-0 before beating Union 5-3. Their wins came by an average score of 13-2.
North Sanpete is now 12-8 overall and 6-3 in 3A Region 14.
At Carbon Wednesday, April 28, Lady Hawk pitcher Heather Howarth pitched a complete game while getting four strikeouts. But Carbon pitcher Brooke Moosman didn’t allow any runs while tallying three strikeouts.
At ALA Thursday, April 29, North Sanpete got 21 runs on just 11 hits. Lexie Green had five runs batted in. Lucy Oldroyd tallied three RBI and three runs. Kayzlie Reed and Howarth each scored three runs. Further, 11 Lady Hawks scored at least one run.
Paeton Johnson, a freshman, pitched a no-hit shutout while getting seven strikeouts.
North Sanpete also stole four bases.
At home against Union Friday, April 30, the Lady Hawks got five runs on just four hits. Howarth pitched a complete game while getting three strikeouts. Howarth also had two RBI as North Sanpete split the five runs among five players.

The Lady Hawks had the great week despite still being without star player Graciee Christiansen. Christiansen is expected to be back any time now, according to Lady Hawks Coach Landon Bailey’s report to the Sanpete Messenger on Monday, April 26.
