Manti KOA grand opening highlights new owners

MANTI—Manti-La Sal KOA was purchased a little over a year ago as a passion project by Brent and Katie Crosby. As seasoned real estate investors, they noticed the potential immediately.

“The campground was originally in really rough shape. They had one older lady managing the entire park. The first day I showed up to check it out was Labor Day, one of the biggest camping days of the year, and they had the office closed!” said owner Brent Crosby. “I’d always loved the area. My grandmother grew up near here. I have ancestors buried in town. It took an enormous investment of both time and money to get it to where it is today. My team has worked tirelessly to make it what it is now.”

Katie redid all the cabins and has completely redone the marketing and social media, while the kids have cleaned and run the register. Managers are Mike and Berta Chandler.

“The whole staff have worked themselves to the bone this last year, but it’s all been worth it to see this campground reach its potential,” Crosby says.

Beyond the expected RV and tent sites at a KOA, the property also has seven cabins with kitchens and bathrooms, a pool, an arcade, a billiard table, an ATV wash, a playground, a dog park and a fully stocked convenience store that is open to the public.

The grand opening had local vendors on site, pageant royalty, food trucks, a raffle and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“In spite of the heat everyone had a great turnout and we express appreciation for all who came,” Crosby says.
