Nine ladies to vie for 2026 Miss Teen, Miss Sanpete titles

EPHRAIM—Nine contestants will compete for the titles of Miss Sanpete County and Miss Sanpete County Outstanding Teen 2026 on Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Snow College Eccles Center for the Performing Arts.

Four contestants will compete for the Miss Sanpete County title, while five will vie for the Miss Sanpete County Outstanding Teen title.

Ava Jensen, Miss Sanpete County, and Kate Craven, Miss Sanpete County Outstanding Teen, will crown their successors during the scholarship pageant, which begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

The Outstanding Teen contestants are Kaylie Oxman of Manti, Mily Parkinson of Moroni, Gema Burgess of Gunnison, Bailey James of Ephraim and Sasha Geloff of Manti. Contestants for Miss Sanpete County are Kamrie Douglas of Ephraim, Harmony Durtschi of Ephraim, Ginny Burgess of Gunnison and Kenadee Hopes of Moroni.

Oxman is the daughter of Dave and Kristine Oxman. She will perform a piano solo to L’Orage (The Storm) by Friedrich Burgmüller and represents her community service initiative, “Life After the Storm.”

Parkinson is the daughter of Kasi and Tyler Larsen and Derik Parkinson. She will perform a jazz and acrobatic dance routine to “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson and represents her community service initiative, “Donor Connect.”

Gema Burgess is the daughter of Christopher and Esther Burgess. She will perform American Sign Language to “A Million Dreams” by Pink and represents her community service initiative, “I Can.”

James is the daughter of Dwight and Susie James. She will perform a dance to “Circus” by Britney Spears and represents her community service initiative, “Paws with a Purpose.”

Geloff is the daughter of James and Sharee Geloff. She will perform a hip-hop dance to “Diva” by Beyoncé and represents her community service initiative, “Discover Your Spark.”

Douglas is the daughter of Colton and Melanie Douglas. She will perform a lyrical dance to “Goodbye” by Mimi Webb and represents her community service initiative, “Healthy Smile, Healthy You.”

Durtschi is the daughter of Lawrence and Denise Durtschi. She will perform a vocal selection to “Wonder” by Katy Perry and represents her community service initiative, “Desert Wise.”

Ginny Burgess is the daughter of Christopher and Esther Burgess. She will perform American Sign Language to “A Soldier’s Memoir” by Mitch Rossell and Joe Bachman and represents her community service initiative, “24IGY6: Veteran Support.”

Hopes is the daughter of Benjamin and Erin Maier and Boedee and Patti Jo Hopes. She will perform a contemporary dance to “The Village” by Wrabel and represents her community service initiative, “Rooted Futures.”

The contestants have spent months preparing to showcase their talents while demonstrating their commitment to serving their communities.
