North Sanpete girls cross country team takes first in region

The North Sanpete High School girls’ cross country track team finished in first place at the 3A Region 14 competition last week in Orem, said coach Bill Bedford.  The top seven girls on the varsity will be moving on to the state championships at Soldier Hollow this Thursday. Hawk freshman Mari Briggs turned in an impressive individual performance and finished first place in the pack, Bedford said. Team members from left to right are: Madelyn Christensen, Tamsin Stewart, Rachael Jones, Aubry Cook, Jocelyn Stewart, Mari Briggs (individual champion, with team trophy), Tylee Henrie, Brooklyn Larsen, Mariah Cook and Hallee Henrie.
