Patriotism, family fun headline ‘Celebration Summer Market’ in Ephraim

EPHRAIM—The Sanpete Chamber of Commerce will host a 250th Celebration Summer Market on Friday, July 25, offering a day of shopping, entertainment and family activities.

The event will coincide with Pioneer weekend events in Fairview, Spring City, Sterling , Mayfield and Axtell.

The market, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Canyon View Park, 650 S. 100 East in Ephraim, will feature local vendors selling handmade goods, specialty items and food, along with live music by The Phat Old Professors. Attendees can also participate in free laser tag provided by Supernova Laser Tag.

Faylyn Warnick, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said organizers hope the event will bring residents and visitors together to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary while supporting local businesses and enjoying family-friendly activities.

“America’s 250th birthday is a once-in-a-generation celebration, and we’re excited to bring our community together for a day filled with patriotism, family fun, and local pride. We will have local vendors, delicious food, and live entertainment,” Warnick said.

“For added fun families can enjoy free laser tag, join the cornhole and pickleball tournaments, or just soak in the old-fashioned hometown fun. We hope people will come spend the day making memories, supporting local businesses, and celebrating the freedoms and community spirit that make Sanpete County such a special place.”

Competitive events include a cornhole tournament sponsored by CentraCom and a pickleball tournament beginning at 9 a.m. Both tournaments require advance registration through the Scoreholio app, cost $20 per team and offer cash prizes for winning teams.

The celebration will also include a Salute to the Armed Forces recognizing current and former members of the U.S. military, as well as a patriotic spirit contest with awards presented to participants displaying the most red, white and blue.

Other weekend highlights include:

Fairview: A two-night rodeo will be held Thursday and Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Keller arena. A kids parade is Friday at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Pioneer Day parade, traditionally one of the largest parades in the county.

The demolition derby is Saturday, with gates opening at 5 p.m. The derby starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by fireworks.

Spring City: A street dance will be held Thursday from 8-10 p.m. The town’s Pioneer Parade starts at 10 a.m. Friday, followed by a “park party” and community barbecue in the Center Street park. The traditional Old Time Gospel Music Revival will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at the park.

Sterling: A parade starts at 9 a.m. Line up beginning at 8:30 at 100 West and 200 South. Following the parade, there will be pioneer horse wagon rides. A “pioneer carnival” is scheduled in the park at 11 a.m. and a pie-eating contest at 3 p.m. There will be western swing dancing at 7 p.m.

Mayfield: A parade starts Friday at 10 a.m., followed by activities in the town park. The annual Lion’s Club fund raising auction is at 12:30 p.m. The traditional rubber duck race in Six-Mile Creek will be held in the late afternoon or early evening.
