SALT LAKE CITY—The Snow College Badgers mens basketball team came home spotless from the Salt Lake Thanksgiving Tournament with two wins.

Snow posted impressive wins over Western Nebraska and Big Bend last week to bounce back from their only loss of the season and elevate their record to 8-1.

The Badgers faced Big Bend Community College to begin the tournament and posted a big win, 100-81. The victory marked the fourth game where the Badgers scored more than 100 points. The team is currently averaging 93.3 points per game with an average margin of victory of 20 points.

Western Nebraska, a tougher program, played a competitive game against Snow, but the Badgers eventually overcame in a 92-78 victory.

Sophomore Badger Zach Hunsaker led all scorers with 25 points. The Badgers fought the Cougars to a 37-37 tie at halftime. In the second half, it was all Snow, outscoring their opponent 55-41 and leading by as much as 17 during the game.

Hunsaker averaged 28 points per game in the tournament. He shot above 60 percent in both games, including a 64 percent success rate from the three point line.

In addition to the victories, Hunsaker received Scenic West Player of the Week recognition for his efforts.

Snow will be hosting a tournament of their own soon. Dec. 9-10, the Badgers will host the Mountain America Classic in Ephraim. They will begin by playing Hillcrest Academy on Friday, and then will face Planet Athlete on Saturday.
