The Snow College softball team continued its preseason with a 1-4 outing over the weekend.

Snow College lost to Eastern Arizona 6-3, Yavapai 9-0, Central Arizona 12-3 and Arizona Western 10-8. Snow College’s lone victory was a 10-2 decision over South Mountain Community College.

Stormee Gee lead the team with a .429 average for the weekend and three doubles. Kynlee Hoggan and Dashani Purcell had four RBI a piece. Cami Gibbs had a home run against Arizona Western.

“We played better than the scores might indicate,” said head coach Chad Carpenter. “Kaci Smith got the win against South Mountain and Kynlee Hoggan pitched really well in the two close losses to Eastern Arizona and Arizona Western.”

The Badgers will return home as they start the Scenic West Athletic Conference schedule and host the College of Southern Idaho.

The home games will be March 4-5 with games at 1 and 3 p.m. on March 4 and noon and 2 p.m. on March 5 at the Snow College Softball Complex at the north end of Ephraim.

“Overall, the team is improving and is never out of a game,” Carpenter said. “When we learn what it takes to win the close games, we will take a big step forward.”
