MT. PLEASANT — The North Sanpete girls basketball team closed out the season last week with a pair of losses last week.

North Sanpete lost 53-41 to Juab, then succumbing to a revenge-hungry Delta team last Friday, 39-35. The Lady Hawks conclude the season with a 4-15 overall record, and finish 1-7 in Region 14.

In both of the losses, Junior Tylee Henrie led the Lady Hawks in scoring. She put up an impressive 18 points against Juab, then scored 12 points against Delta. Henrie finished the regular season as the eighth-highest scorer in 3A, averaging 13.7 points per game.

Per RPI rankings released this weekend, North Sanpete claimed the No. 17 spot in the final rankings and playoff seeding, giving them a road game to start the postseason. They’ll take on No. 16 Juan Diego this Tuesday.

Should North Sevier defeat Juan Diego, the Lady Hawks will have a second-round matchup with undefeated (22-0) No. 1 Judge Memorial, led by the state’s leading scoring in senior Teya Sidberry, who averages 34.7 points per game.
