Three charged with attempted murder at CUCF

GUNNISON—Three inmates at the Central Utah Correctional Facility have been charged with attempted murder following an alleged attack on another inmate. 

Court documents filed Thursday in Utah 6th district Court in Manti show that Macen Lucas Loutensock, 20; Jeffrey Montoya, 24; and Philip Ray Cardova, 20; each face a second-degree felony count of attempted murder. The Utah Department of Corrections said the incident took place Nov. 8 around 6:45 a.m. in the prison’s day room. Correctional officers responded with pepper spray to stop the assault.
