Lady Tigers advancing in 2A playoffs

ST. GEORGE—The Wasatch Academy girls basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Utah State 2A girls basketball playoffs by defeating North Sevier 45-37 last Friday, Feb. 16, at Desert Hills High School in St. George.

The game was tight throughout, still tied at halftime, and the Lady Tigers did not take the lead until the third quarter. They pulled away in the fourth quarter and claimed the win with an eight-point margin.

Lady Tiger Emanuely De Oliveira led all scorers with 19 points.

The top-ranked Lady Tigers will move on to the quarterfinals of the 2A playoff to be played at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield today. They face off against Kanab, with tipoff scheduled for 5:50 p.m.

The semifinals and finals will be on Friday and Saturday respectively.
