Manti cross country tests itself against Utah’s best in Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK—The Manti High School Cross Country team competed Saturday, Aug. 29 at the UIAAA Cross Country Invitational in Spanish Fork.
The meet brought together approximately 80 teams from all classifications across Utah, giving the Templars an opportunity to compete against some of the best runners in the state.
Senior Paul Gardner led the Manti boys in the championship race, finishing 13th overall with a time of 15:36.49. He was followed by senior Mason Carlile (16:48.01), freshman Emerson Smith (17:12.66), junior Asher Henry (17:43.63), and senior Porter Rasmussen (18:17.40).
The girls were led by seniors Kylie Hart, who ran 21:35.34, and Sariah Peterson, who finished just behind her in 21:43.20.
In the freshman/sophomore girls race, freshman Shaelyn Hart had an impressive performance, finishing 14th overall in 21:53.93, followed by sophomore Grace Gardner in 22:43.64.
