MT. PLEASANT—The North Sanpete Hawks opened their 2026 football season with dominance, shutting down Cottonwood 57-0 on Friday, Aug. 14 at home.
MANTI—Manti quarterback Kingston Wright threw for 525 yards and three touchdowns, but Pine View came away with a 44-28 victory over the Templars in Manti’s season opener on Friday, Aug. 14.
GUNNISON—Rich held off Gunnison Valley 21-14 on Friday, Aug. 14, in a non-region 1A game at Gunnison.
FAYETTE—Fayette Town Clerk Tyson Holyoak announced Tuesday, Aug. 18 that he intends to seek the town’s open mayoral position, adding another name to the field of residents interested in filling the vacancy created by Mayor Jed Bartholomew’s resignation.
EPHRAIM—A Manti High School senior who served as Miss Ephraim for 2025-26 and then crowned her sister Adelie as her Miss Ephraim successor moved up to Miss Sanpete County at a pageant last Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Snow College Eccles Center.
