CENTERFIELD—Centerfield residents could see modest increases in several city fees over the next year as officials work to keep pace with rising public safety and utility costs under the city’s newly adopted 2026-27 budget.
MANTI—An event celebrating a new educational display at Palisade State Park and honoring the man who developed Palisade Lake is scheduled Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel (“red church”) on 300 South and Main Street in Manti.
MT. PLEASANT—The Mt. Pleasant City Council unanimously rejected a resolution to adopt a Recreation Impact Fee Facilities Plan and Impact Fee Analysis on July 28, opting instead to determine a lower recreation impact fee before moving forward with an ordinance expected to return to the council at a future date, and after members submitted their recommendations by an Aug. 4 deadline.
SPRING CITY—A lightning-caused wildfire burning east of Spring City and Ephraim has expanded to more than 2,000 acres over the past week, prompting mandatory evacuations, widespread forest closures and an aggressive firefighting response in the face of dangerous fire weather.
